Avalon Borzoi

Since 1985 I've owned Borzoi, and have personally competed in obedience, lure coursing, conformation, straight racing and open field coursing with them.  After attending open field coursing for the first time in 2001, I've been very dedicated to try and find a way and time to go out West periodically for this event.   I've never thought you should have to choose between pretty and functional, the best Borzoi I've ever seen have also been very functional and fast dogs.   Everything else that tests a sighthound is rather pale by comparison to the open field which is why I've tried to make some efforts to get out there and test dogs in the most meaningful way.

About Me

I'm a 20+ year employee of the state of Tennessee and have spent the last 16 years of it as a teacher.  My degree however is in psychology for those who are curious.  I live on a small farm in middle TN with my Borzoi, Silken Windhounds, hair sheep and some poultry ( peafowl and chickens). 

 I'm an AKC and ASFA lure coursing judge, and have judged the ASFA International Invitational, the Scottish Deerhound and Whippet National trials and look forward to judging the Saluki National in 2009.

Aside from the canine activities I also LOVE to hike and travel and take photos of my wanderings.

 I don't always have Borzoi available for sale although occasionally a nice retired adult or puppy might be available but I always have time to answer questions if I can.
